For a company that builds just 20 cars a year, Pagani knows how to keep things fresh. It launched two new models at the Geneva Auto Show, the R and Cinque. Both are derivatives of the established Zonda, with the promise of the genuinely new Pagani C9 still a year away.

The R is a racetrack-only version of the Zonda with a 100 horsepower boost, taking the Mercedes-derived V12 to 750 horses. Owners can either take the Zonda R racing on their own or make mincemeat of every other car that turns up to a track day. On a long enough straight, it will reach a top speed of 230 mph. Just 15 will be built, and one of them is yours for $1.76 million.

The Zonda Cinque has, incredibly, been designed especially for the Hong Kong market, with softer suspension and the sort of interior enhancements that local buyers will value. It uses the usual AMG Mercedes V12, this time with a more manageable 675 horsepower. A new rear wing, revised front spoiler and air intakes are all part of the flexibility possible from such a small bespoke manufacturer. The plan is to build just five examples, which probably exhausts the demand for these $1.07 million supercars.
